Unable to book SQ X Class Award trip?
Hi all,
Wondering if someone here knows anything on this - I've been trying to book a Star Alliance award trip using EB points over the past few days. Looking to go quite far (literally the other side of the world - Pacific zone) and there are limited options, so only looking to fly Economy (X class), and involving seats flying on SQ. I know that SQ doesn't release Bus (I class) or higher, but my understanding is X class should be open to book, provided there is availability showing?
I found a routing which I was able to confirm was available on ExpertFlyer as well as on United Airlines search engine. All is going well with making the award booking over the phone with the SAS call centre, I am able to confirm seats on SQ from LHR-SIN, however when I've tried booking seats on SQ from SIN to SYD or BNE I've been told multiple times that there is no availability, despite being able to see that there clearly is on both EF and United. The call centre agent put me on hold to enquire further, but told me that I was unable to book SQ 'as there is no agreement with SQ', however on previous calls I have been able to hold LHR-SIN as part of a routing.
Does anyone know what is the story here? Thanks in advance!
