Bag drop off - how long before flight? (60/90/180 min?)

We have an early flight from Dxb travelling with a toddler. We usually drop off bags around 60-90 min before a flight, however the boarding pass says a minimum of 3 hours, which sounds a bit much.

question is what is the latest you can drop the bags off at Dxb?
