Haven't stayed at the Moxy so cannot comment on it but we had a good stay at the Fresh. Not the greatest of neighborhoods (as can be the case with many hotels in Athens including much more expensive ones) but we never felt unsafe. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and the hotel had a nice breakfast spread and really friendly staff. I would say it is a good basic (non-luxury) choice.
I have had two stays at Fresh. I really like it, its clean, the restaurant and bar on the roof is lively, reasonable and good food. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. True its not the best of areas but its extremely good location for shops and restaurants.
