I was staying in a Luxury Collection hotel recently when a false alarm went off. The siren and flashing lights continued for around half an hour. Having heard no fire trucks, etc., I stayed in the room.

The next morning I awakened to find an envelope with my name written on the front. Inside was a typed note, personally addressed to me, apologizing for the false alarm.

I was impressed that the night duty manager took the trouble to produce this note!
