If transportation to DCA/iAD is not a concern, take IAD-LAX-SYD ten out of ten times for me for two reasons: 1) wider seat width on B777, 2) Polaris lounges at IAD and LAX.
-Uhhh they're all overnight flights to SYD. 9A&L also have bigger footwells, and are my go-to seats when flying solo
-LAX-SYD is also a 789, unless changed specially for OP's flight
-IAH also has a Polaris lounge.
