I don’t put hard cards inside a Rimowa luggage tag — don’t use Rimowa for checked-in luggage if I can help it — but I’ve put hard plastic cards inside some tough leather luggage tags and had the cards come back broken. The kinds of breaks I was seeing has me wondering how much abuse an AirTag can take or will take if using them inside a flopping luggage tag. They seem to take drops ok. But the way luggage is “handled” can mean the kinds of PSI pressure that far exceed what happens from a typical fall of a key chain AirTag hitting the ground.
