Pretty much anywhere in the Tristate (NY) area you will be in a flight pattern sometimes, between LGA, JFK, EWR, and HPN. I live about 15 miles from LGA and when the planes are landing east to west on the main runway I get buzzed every 7 minutes or so. You do get used to it, and like fire sirens in NYC, it just goes with the territory.
