Yeah, I've done the tunnel walk through too many times to count. I recall a few times the little cart buggy driver would offer me a ride, which was kind of fun. I wouldn't pay money to walk the tunnel or for the heck of it, but I'd always prefer to avoid having to clear security again.
As you've pointed out, it's quite interesting and I don't mind it, at all.
