I see the allure of a D1 lounge to compete with UA and AA. But outside of the D1 departure times, what use is an empty D1 lounge when the Skyclub next door is at capacity and a line out the door, at 6am?
While bulk of departures are in afternoon/evening at JFK (although there are sill JFK-SEA/LAX/SFO D1 flights in the morning), LAX is pretty much spread out throughout the day with mostly LAX-JFK flights. There are also LAX-DCA and LAX-HND D1 flights in the morning.
