I just left ATL earlier today to go to JFK. I departed from the South Terminal. I did sign for the Digital ID option. However, when I arrived at my ATL terminal, there were 3 lines
1. Clear only 2. Pre-check only and 3. Pre-check and Clear
I went to the Pre-check and Clear line as that was a much shorter wait. Took me 3-5 min to get through. Pre-check only was much longer and Clear only was absurd. There was about 50 people in the Clear only line. Time was about 4:30 pm today
These are always the 3 options at the South Terminal. The Clear + TSA pre line is often the shortest (time). The TSA pre only is always the longest in length, but sometimes it is the quickest (because they always have multiple screeners - and the TSA agents frequently push pax into the Clear + TSA pre x-ray lines after checking ID). I guess I just dream of two things (1) better communication from the Clear agents as to how long my choices are (it has happened that the Clear agent suggested TSA pre only), and (2) a 4th option for those of us with Clear, TSA and Delta Digital ID. Clearly the last dream is a pipe dream.
