My concerns with Alila are that it isn't fully up and running smooth so might be better to go with tried and true PH. Were there any mosquito issues during your stay? For my situation which resort would you recommend?
I did scuba diving with PH last year, they were awesome especially if you’re doing discovery diving, they will start the lesson at the main pool and make you feel comfortable before jumping into the ocean. I’m not a good swimmer but the instructor took care of me super well. And more importantly the diving center belongs to PH themselves, not outsource like Alila.
i stayed at villa #1 at PH last year, because there are many trees surrounding the villa, I got many mosquito bites, however they will give you medicine that helps to heal almost the next day. If you’re staying at the water villa, your chance of having mosquito is close to zero, same for any maldives resort.
in general, if this is the first time and might be the only time at Maldives then go with PH. It was my first maldives resort, and all the activities at PH got me addicted to come back three times within one year.
