Your experience reinforces why I don’t typically use the PRE-Clear line in ATL. It rarely saves time ga regular Pre line.
This morning the Clear + TSA was longer than normal, but I didn’t pick up on that until I reached the first “bend” in the Clear line - which is where the Delta agent was offering people the option to go thru the Digital ID line. When I’ve done it before, it essentially lets you jump directly to the TSA person to be scanned by video. The scanning part isn’t much different from the Clear screen, although it seems a tiny bit quicker. The real plus is skipping to the front of the lines - even in front of the rest of the Clear line.
I’ve submitted a complaint to Delta, but I’m having the customer service folks to understand. The agent in the first reply somehow decided that I couldn’t get into the Sky Club using biometrics (huh?). Then the agent read my clarification email to conclude that TSA had denied me access to the Digital ID line. SMH.
It was Delta employees asking Delta pax in the TSA line to jump to the head of the line, and it was a Delta employee who said no one in the Clear line could do so. I realize I could have left the Clear line to go into the other line, and this is a first world problem, but I’d just like to get to the bottom of it.
