Those violations should be treated more severely. I have landed in LAX instead, more than 3 times before due to the curfew at SNA. It was annoying to take an hour shuttle down to SNA but it would be even worse to pay multi-million $$$s for a house in the area and be tortured by airplane noise at late night.
Hasn't the airport been around a lot longer? In other words, if you spend any money on a home, isn't it pretty easy to figure out who the neighbors are and also to anticipate growth? (If you're moving there, chances are others will, too.)
I've never understood that, especially when airplanes are a lot quieter now.
