I managed to use 60 PP to upgrade 3 friends (all on separate PNRs, and separate from me as well) on IAD-BTV Thursday morning. Surprisingly, it went down to boarding before they cleared them--and I'm not really sure why, given there were still 6 F seats for purchase the morning of departure for the 80 minute RJ flight.

I was worried I was going to have to tell my friends, "Welcome to why I buy F," as they were 1-2-3 on the waitlist the entire time and I was kind of expecting the doors to close with them still 1-2-3... Instead, UA cleared 5 upgrades and sold 1 seat.
