I am currently working towards a large HH points redemption. Part of my plan with this is to buy a large amount of points during the 100% buy points bonus offer that ends tomorrow.

I also have a fairly new AMEX Platinum card which is offering a 60K MR rewards bonus for hitting £6000 of spending in the first 6 months. This is pretty straightforward for me but obviously popping the HH points purchase on the AMEX Plat card would accelerate me towards that bonus.

I'm interested to know whether anyone can confirm whether a points purchase in USD on an 'ephemeral' product like HH points (essentially a hotel currency) would count towards my eligible AMEX the £6k spend goal on a UK AMEX card? I assume so, but I was wondering if anyone can confirm for certain either way?
