My UR headache is with hotel bookings. Chase UR aka c/kLoyalty don't actually give you a "real" booking number. The reservation has two listed. Both of these numbers/codes are useless with the hotel. Both the trip code and "booking number are useless. Trying to get an actual booking code from Marriott or Hilton for an upcoming trip is impossible. Their reservation system doesn't show this booking. It feels risky for Mexico where by experience hotel reservations can at times be troublesome. I have had to call in and talk to a specialist which takes hours and hours. Then they finally release the actual hotel booking number. So annoying.
If you have a booking, can't you just call the hotel directly to confirm it's in their system and get the number from them? That should take you only a minute or two and would allay your concerns while saving you the customer service mess on the agency side.
