I think the overall organization inside the Tumi is superior and although the silver aluminum of Rimowa is attractive when new, the amount of scratches/scuffs/dents that would happen seems counterintuitive to the purpose of buying “expensive” luggage. The ballistic nylon doesn’t really scratch or scuff and mostly anything can be cleaned with some soap and a damp rag.

I've never had a Tumi and may add some weight to it during my decision making process, which has taken much longer than what's customary for me. After traveling recently, I just can't do the "laptop bag over the handle thing," which likely rules out the Rimowa. And, the thought of having to open up my bag to remove my laptop at foreign airports and the occasional TSA zealot eager & fresh out of indoctrination would literally drive me insane.
