I recently flew HNL-HND and NRT-HNL on UA codeshares on ANA. My HNL-HND flight was a 787-900 that was nearly full, at least in economy, and my return flight was on an A380 that was nearly full on the bottom deck in Economy also.

When I arrived at HND Terminal 3 at 4:45 PM in the afternoon, the terminal was nearly empty, and getting through the quarantine checkpoint was a breeze, although it involved a lot of walking. No line at all at immigration, and a short wait at customs.

Departing from NRT, most eateries in Terminal 1 seemed to close around 6:00 PM, most shops were still closed, although a few duty free shops were open, and the terminal was nearly deserted as my flight (the A380) was the last departure for the night out of Terminal 1 due to a maintenance delay.

The United Club at NRT remains closed with no indications of it reopening any time soon. The ANA Lounge that was open was quite full.

From what I saw, it will probably take a substantial increase in demand before UA increases flights to JPN, although I did see a UA 787 at HND's Terminal 3.
