All other reasoning and debates here aside, I absolutely *despise* the compensation culture around here. United made their own bed on that many moons ago (hundreds of dollars for a burned out reading light? Seriously?) - but I, for one, am glad it's pulled back a bit. I guess that makes me a not-very-good-Flyertalker, but so be it.

This is a lousy situation for sure, but it's also not a payday.
