I have a flight VRN-EWR with Air Canada in a few months. It was quite cheap, hence the choice. The return has a layover of 40m at YUL. With the way things have been that just seems like a nightmare waiting to happen so I've been expecting some options if the flights move enough. They haven't so I'm already onto plan b. Even now I can get a voucher for the whole purchase amount now, but what if I take the outgoing? Would it then be possible to get a voucher for the other portion only?

It would be great not to lose the money but at the end of the day, I also want to preclude problems so I'll likely find another way back.
