That's interesting. No upgrade, though I did book two different classes for the outbound and the return. The ticket was economy outbound, U class, SAT-ATL-AMS-CPT and then Premium Select on the return JNB-LHR-ATL-SAT with the ATL-SAT leg being in Comfort Plus. I just checked my original receipt from when I booked in October and it shows a G fare class on my Virgin flights and a W fare class on my Delta flight for the return.
