I just booked a reward flight on the phone today with my Amex companion voucher and had intended to look for a better outward flight over the coming weeks.

I always thought that fees for BA EC gold members were waived, but when speaking to customer service rep they said only the service fee is waived, I still need to pay the £35 fee for changing, upgrading etc. she said it was free during pandemic and cancellations but not any more.

I’ve re-read T&C’s on website and it still suggest for Gold members it’s free to change for rewards booking (precise wording Gold Priority Reward Booking).

Have I misunderstood?
