But I just went back and look at the tax forms and it says:

If that wasn't the case and you had to report the engagement bonus on your tax return without being able to deduct the fees, I think the effective MS plat AF would actually be higher than that of the vanilla/regular plat, because you would have to pay the $660 in fees as well as taxes on the $695 bonus.
