Their page with details about SDFC delineates that Exec Plat and Plat Pro can change themselves and "companions", but they specifically say that a Gold or Plat can only change up to 8 companions.

Complimentary change / standby

AAdvantage Executive PlatinumŽ and AAdvantage Platinum ProŽ status (and companions in same reservation)
AAdvantage PlatinumŽ and AAdvantage GoldŽ status (and up to 8 companions in same reservation)

So, I guess if anyone has more than 8 companions to upgrade and they are a Plat Pro/Exec Plat, let us know if you are able to change >8 companions in your rez. On that note, how often or practical is it to have 8+ people in the same PNR?
