As a Gold card with BA for over 20 years I can only say that post pandemic I have stopped being a hostage of loyalty - and have no regrets. Yes I have a lot of avios but I will use these in good time, and yes I will be silver soon, but so be it. I have flown on a range of different airlines in business class the last months globally, and they all had great/good/average points, but it beat the tiresome and inferior BA product I put up with for years. I was hoping BA would wake up and be competitive again for many years, but I stopped waiting.
