Hopefully you get the extra nights and points for the longer stay credited, and chalk it up to lesson learned. You have a couple options that I would consider

• Book through Marriott without your Bonvoy info. You can still get your credit card points, but not base points or nights
• Book through a hotels.com and get credit for their program
• Book with P2 Bonvoy info. They might have lower status but at least you still accrue everything
• Book with another chain

There are infinite options, but all of them might not be ideal. I agree its annoying to pack up and move out of a room, so in my opinion its not a great option.
