BOB is certainly currently false advertising . I said as much to the CSD on a recent LHR-EDI flight.
He blamed it on being only a 55 minute flight, while I said "easyJet manage to do this". A few people round us had also ordered through wifi shop shortly before takeoff and more annoyed than us. All cabin crew blaming each other and the CSD came to apologise (4 minutes before Captain said seats for landing -my guess knowing he could just exit his chat with us). I don't understand why 1) he mentioned ability to buy through the wifi shop at the start and 2) it was still active when they told us none of it was possible. Just annoys customers more in an already tense time for them.
I would certainly consider taking something from the lounge in future. People will take things from the lounge anyway, why not put some sort of honesty box in place where you can deposit Avois through the app if you decide to take a couple cans of beer after a long day (and delayed flight).
