Good heavens, no. This is not how these threads our supposed to work. The proper way to approach these threads is for one side to demonstrate by
reductio ad absurdum that having a single crisp in your hand and put to your lips once you pass the threshold of the lounge is indistinguishable from putting ten bottles of spirits in your bag while the other side will counter-argue they are allowed to take everything they can lay their eyes on, except perhaps items of furniture that are solidly anchored to the ground and would require advanced DIY skills to remove.
But I will too fall in the same trap as you, advocating for a touch of common sense here. Putting a bag of crisp, a bottle of water or a can of coke (or of beer) in your bag on your way out to the plane is neither here nor there. Stashing your bag full to the brim of food and drink from the lounge is another matter altogether, without the need to engage in lengthy discussions of what kind of
mens rea is required to establish whether the situation falls within the scope of the Theft Acts or not.
