I see many people asking for BA to drop the large carry on for free and instead only allow rucksack/backpack rather than a roll on, at least for those in ET/without status.

The issue I see with this is that then there will be no difference between Wizz/Easy other than a pack of crisps and bottle of water.

In my experience when I need a full sized carry on its sometimes cheaper to buy BA HBO rather than EZY + carry on add on. If BA take this is away I really see no meaningful benefit over competitors especially given their ongoing problems with boarding and buy on board and HAL. Perhaps passengers with status would be able to benefit from designated security/lounges but to anyone else it's simply a stupid choice
