When I requested points I received a response that "Marriott Bonvoy program earnings are based on you personally staying in and paying for the room for one or more nights at any participating Marriott hotel. For the purposes of the program, it has been determined that a guest cannot occupy more than one room at a time on the same night in more than one hotel location. As a result, a member is not eligible to receive Elite nights, Points or miles for a room reserved and registered in their name at more than one hotel for the same night. "
Has anyone else ever encountered this? Seems bizarre since the only rational response I see is to book the weekend with a different chain, so Marriott lose the revenue.
Why not check out and ask the hotel to keep most of your luggage ? Is it really such a hassle ?
