Walked from a St Regis

Wow. Just wow. I’m a Titanium, Lifetime Platinum member with a two night stay booked on points at the St Regis Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. I applied 2 SNAs which cleared four days before check-in to an Ocean View suite. The day of check-in, I did so online and sent a message to the property through the app, that I’d be arriving close to midnight. They acknowledged my notice with no issues. On arrival, the front desk associate went to the back room and came out with the night manager who informed me that the hotel was at capacity and they’d rebooked me at the St Regis Abu Dhabi on the corniche. I was very disappointed, although I’ve stayed at the corniche property before and quite like it. This was to be my first ever stay at the Saadiyat property.

I’ve never been walked before and very surprised that my first experience was at a St Regis.

I’ve already opened a case with the Bonvoy Titanium CS line and I’m entitled to a comp’d stay at the replacement property (and they upgraded me to a Grand Deluxe Suite on one of the highest floors), a refund of my original booking’s points, a refund of my 2 SNAs, in addition to URG compensation of USD$200 and 140,000 points.
