I get that, and I am willing to pay the extra charge for the third adult (9k JPY per night). The hotel is not asking me to do that, however. They are asking me to change the underlying, pre-upgraded room reservation from standard to deluxe, which carries a cost that is much higher than the third adult charge (almost 40k per night instead of 9k).
I'm interested to know if this is the norm, as all previous reports are that one can add a third adult to a suite for the 9k per night without needing to change the underlying room from standard to deluxe.
