  • The room itself is good - pretty spacious for a "studio", with a firm but comfortable bed and a good sized shower with good water pressure. The shower itself wasn't water tight, so we had some water pooling by the toilet. Only one sink but a good amount of counter space.
  • The free breakfast (except for tip, which is a mandatory 20%) in the restaurant downstairs was....fine. The food was incredibly overpriced and the quality was average. I had the Eggs Benedict and the eggs were slightly overcooked, plus the chicken sausage was pretty dry and mediocre. I can't imagine spending $28 on it, even in Midtown. If you're not a Globalist, there's a breakfast place around the corner that would be way better. As is, I think they charged me $15 for tip on breakfast for two plus tea & sparkling water. Even if it's not amazing, that's cheap for breakfast in Midtown.
  • My brief interactions with the front desk staff & other staff at the hotel were all great.
I've never stayed at the PH but compared to the Hyatt at Grand Central this is way, way better. Next time in Manhattan I'll likely try the Andaz, but I'd come back here again if I needed a good hotel within quick walking distance of Radio City.
As a comparison I was at Andaz 5th Ave last month
The bed is great and a more plush softer than firm which seems to be a Thompson standard (subjective)
The breakfast was solid but gone Is the worlds best iconic pancake they once had and menu options
were more limited than years past.Restaurant staffing was weak so service suffered
The globalist suite upgrade was delivered on without confirming in advance
The suite is a downgrade from the old splash suite now renamed
however I was very pleased
The suite had some issues the electric shades were out of the
track creating a problem for blockage of light and some slight furniture damage
Still a good hotel but a far cry from its hay day.All breakfast charges removed
