Looking at Mexico for next Easter, WTP is much cheaper indirect, with connecting AA flights from DFW/MIA (which I understand are the 2 good connections for interlining). Question is, is the AA flight booked into a higher Y bucket as standard because it's notionally a WTP fare overall? Could make a useful difference in terms of Avios/TPs earned.

If it makes any difference, it would be a BAH package - unfortunately the search screen doesn't show fare buckets.
