The only further advice I'd give is to always have your AS-issued ticket numbers on hand, especially if there's been a schedule change / reissue. It has been a while, but on very rare occasion, the new ticket number doesn't come through to the other airline and the e-ticket connected to the reservation is no longer usable. Not a big deal if you've got the new ticket # handy.
