United Club Card - moving to United Business Club Card
Greetings folks,
I feel like this is a question more appropriate for those who hangout in MileagePlus forums but it may be more appropriate in the Credit Card forum, unsure. So my apologies if this ends up getting moved.
My business partner opened a United Business Club card eons ago and added me as an "Employee" card. I do not get any benefits (that I'm aware of) for having this card - the Club status, Mileage accrual and all benefits go to him and his MP account.
I do have my own United Club card (old consumer card, not the new Infinite one). This gets me Club access.
For various reasons, we are changing our corporate structure and I'm in a position where I will be managing funds now for some items, under a new corporate umbrella/company name. So I want to get a United Business Club card but in my name, linked to my MP number.
So the big weird question is, to get the sign-up bonus (and to avoid duplicating cards/benefits):
* Do I need to cancel the Employee card linked to my business partner's name before applying for the new card?
* Am I violating any Chase rules or MP rules by "switching" my cards to a new business?
* Do I need to cancel my personal United Club card? (I assume I should anyway otherwise I'm paying for two club memberships for myself)
* Anything else to be aware of/consider?
Hope this made sense.
