My wife and I traveling together on same reservation today.

When I checked us in this morning I agreed to extending my CPU status to her. We were 2 and 3. When I did that, it took her off the upgrade list.
  1. Why after agreeing to "extending CPU status" to her did it take her off the list? Seems strange. Before agreeing to this (or checking in) we were listed together?
No biggie. Short flight, and didn't think we'd clear anyway.

Well, there was some movement and at the gate it looked like at least I would clear if not her, too.

I asked the gate agent if it was possible to add her back, and they did but her name did not show up. They told me they added her back as a "1K" (though she is not), but weren't sure why her name did not show up.

Out of curiosity, I called the 1K desk and asked the same question and they said the way they understand it is that her name isn't listed but it is attached in sequence "underneath" my name on the upgrade list.

2) Is that true?

3) Any thoughts on why when my upgrade cleared her name then appeared on the list but at the very bottom?

Myself and the 2 folks after me cleared but she was ahead of those 2 until I checked in this morning.

What did I do wrong? What should I do differently next time? Just trying to better learn the system.

Thanks all!
Of course, if you don’t give her your upgraded seat, you’ll have done something wrong. 😉
