Just to follow-up, I was indeed denied the ability to use the lounge since my seat was in economy. Not a big deal, just hung out, walked around the airport some and did some research on my trip since I was on vacation.
As a side note...anybody notice that some of the bathrooms at NRT don't have a way to dry your hands? Maybe it's the same bathroom I used 6 months apart, but the air dryer is out of service (maybe a covid thing) and they don't have paper towels. Pretty sure it was down the 71-75 gate wing area.
All air dryers in Japan have been shut down because of COVID, been that way since 2020. Usually however they have subbed in paper towels which I prefer anyway. It's fairly unusual to find a toilet here that doesn't have paper towels now, but was an extremely rare sight before COVID.
