Correct, fare has increased from $1,689.97 to $2,863.77. However, despite booking through IAP the charge appeared on my AmEx statement as "
SWISS INT AIR LINES AG". Swiss refusing to directly assist me and sending me in a circle back to AmEx IAP is nothing more than than a dishonest scheme not to accept responsibility, as Swiss regained control of the ticket when the cabin class was downgraded from PE to Y. SWISS Conditions of Carriage "3.1.5 The Ticket is and remains the property of the issuing Carrier at all times", but Swiss is playing a bait and switch game.

"9.2 Cancellations, routing and delays:
9.2.2 Unless specified otherwise in the Convention, if we cancel a flight, fail to operate a flight reasonably according to schedule, fail to land at your final or Stopover destination or cause you to miss an onward flight for which you hold a confirmed reservation, we shall, at your option:
1. Carry you on another of our scheduled services on which space is available without additional charge and, where necessary, with an extension of the validity of your Ticket; or
2. Reimburse you the price of the coupon or the coupons not used by you; or
3. Refund the corresponding fare in accordance with the provisions of 10.2 below
4. If it is not possible to carry you to the destination shown on your Ticket within a reasonable period of time using our own services and if you do not wish a refund, we may use the services of another carrier chosen by us to bring you to the destination.”
I was only offered option #3 of 9.2.2, but "we [SWISS] shall, at your [passenger] option" as I have requested #4 multiple times the past two weeks and SWISS has been ignorant of their own Conditions of Carriage.
I'm just going to refer the Swiss shenanigans to New York Attorney General Letitia James office to investigate the business practice of Swiss, as the Swiss US office is located in Uniondale, New York.
