The most romantic is probably the Place, but with Koh Tao a view comes hand in hand with a pain in the ... to get around. I'll often stay at Blue Tao which has rooms with their own hammock type things right on Sairee beach - it can be a bit loud at times and is more of a place for younger people. Because of my history on the island I value the ability to wander Sairee beach mornings and evenings above just about all else. It is objectively a bit spoilt now, but is still stunning and has one of the world's greatest sunsets. As a compromise between view and access to beach Jamahkiri has a couple of new Pool Villas which I've not seen myself, but which certainly look very pretty on their website. I'm not 100% sure they exist, or that the resort is operating properly at the moment, so please take this mention with a pinch of salt. It also picked up some bad PR after the most recent deaths on the island were in their pool, in case that is an issue for you.
Just booked 3 nights (the 4th night that I planned at that villa was not available) at the Pool Villa 1 bdr, at the
Jamahkiri Resort during the 2nd half of December. The Blue Tao is showing as sold out for those dates.
I did not decide yet if I will go to the pool.
