I get those too when I've got two potential business trips -- but I've assumed it is because they can see the account that booked it -- which is easy to do -- thus my doubt that UA itself could be doing this -- maybe they've hired a new "security" partner that doesn't get todays world?
My second PNR was booked without logging into UA MP and had no FFP number. All UA knew was name/DoB/gender. UA system must have matched them using those. There were even no overlapping flight.
