I am BKK based as well and would prefer direct flights to Europe, but can live w the DOH connection. However TG lately, I'm not always able to find the direct flights, instead having to route through FRA. If I have to do a connection, my pref is for a DOH connection than a FRA one as I find the whole FRA connection as my last leg gets my business day off to a bad start. Prior to covid, I got very little utility off of ROP. Countless miles and upgrades expired, never any availability to anywhere I was going, F upgrades I only used on their ancient 747 to avoid the angled lie flats, and most of the time it was the old F, not even the newer one. I took NZ and Aussie holidays to burn miles and upgrades, guess the Thai VIP's don't go down under often. As I always fly business anyways, lounge access isn't really an issue.

Now that I have a family, I would like to visit home in the USA more often / get business class tickets for the grand parents to visit. As the grand parents have flexibility for travel dates, I would like to be able to burn my miles on them, hence I am considering Qatar family plan. Previously I would either fly them ANA or Qatar, but even with their flexibility, getting award on ANA I was never able to do. The Star Alliance award page on ROP website just gives me Error. Does TG Platinum give you noticeable priority for award seats for nominees?
