I am TG Platinum since they started with this extra tier status and was TG G for many years before
I can't compare it with Qatar at all...
I am based in Thailand and precovid had to fly 5-7 times a year to Europe and at least twice per month regional to China, Japan, Korea, Singapore and some other destinations.
for business I would have NEVER chosen any middle east carrier, where you have to transit in the middle of the night and get two red eyes flight while with TG's direct connection I could sleep 6-7 hours and get into meetings after a shower.

best Platinum benefits were among others
- F counter check in, fast track and F lounge in BKK even on a cattle class ticket; F check in at other destinations
- many upgrades and PUP and mileage tickets (also for my wife) with very good availability (much better than on LH/LX/OS group, where I also have status)
- I was many times in F to and from Europe during those years and never paid for a F ticket
- special hotline with fast response and going the extra mile (that was precovid)

now after covid it remains to be seen, what are the benefits for Platinum as TG has reduced F to very few destinations and routes and the F lounge is still not open (just a more quiet and less crowded room in the TG Prestige lounge is left...)
