For me it is flights to Europe. AA and UA have 135-155k one way, AC is 30+ to Europe, AF/KLM at 130-180K and more one way, .... BA would be the most convenient but little Awards available
For most airlines it is a close comparison (depending on the day, convenience, ...) sometimes one makes more sense sometimes the other. If BA shows around 350-380K MR for the insider fare I would jump on it (let's say 220k "net" costs vs USD 1200 and the miles needed - if one can find availability)
