I had a very nice stay at the Sheraton last night. I had booked a classic room, and was upgraded to a junior suite. Although the website still says that the club lounge is closed, they do have a fairly nice replacement club lounge open on the first floor. We missed the happy hour offerings, but used the lounge for drinks and snacks in the afternoon. As a Platinum, my free breakfast could be taken in either the club lounge or in the restaurant, which has a big buffet, including fruit, eggs, bacon, and pancakes. The foam pillow I requested was among the best I’ve ever had in a hotel. We heard no airplane or traffic noise. We arrived slightly before check-in time (after transatlantic and connecting flights), and our room was ready when we arrived. I had contacted them earlier to get recommendations for a private car service, and they said they had their own transfer service. I used their transfer service to get to Lugano this morning, and that went smoothly. The transfer was in a van set up in a manner I had not seen before, with two rows of seats facing each other in the back, which provide lots of legroom for two people, and expansive views from the side windows. Very nice. Service was excellent from everyone we encountered. The hotel was easy to find from baggage claim - plenty of signage available to direct you there.
