There shouldn't be an issue pushing back the departing MAN flight, just call them. They may also be entitled to EC261 compensation for the late arrival into HKT.
Thank you. They have indeed called EK and managed to get the flights they want which is great stuff, as they were stressing about it a bit, and are now sorted. Flights aren't until March though so I don't think EC261 compensation is at play as >14 days out? In any case they are pleased not to have a ~31hr trip to Thailand now!
