Does buying miles earn PQP for each dollar spent?

Planning a big trip for next year. Buying some miles now can get me enough to do it. If I get PQP for every dollar, combined with already scheduled trips it will also bump me up a level this year. If buying miles doesn't give me PQP, I get the miles organically this year and into next, but I won't be able to get to the higher premier status before the big trip. Not a big issue, but it would be nice to have the higher premier status for the trip.
