What does "amended" mean? Is such document not required if you are Australian? I am asking because a few agencies besides JGA are offering ERFS but some of them don't stamp your itinerary.

I have a suspicion this is a typo. Other consulates have mentioned the need for these travel agency documents only if you AREN'T one of the visa-exemption countries (ie. if you are not a holder of an Australian passport). I wonder if they meant "optional" instead of "amended".

Have a look at "2. Required Documents" at the Australian Embassy in Canberra as a comparison:
Section 2, B, vi. shows the extra documents that the Melbourne consulate page is referring to.

So if you have a passport from a visa waiver country then I do not think you need the documents Melbourne refer to on this page in Table 1, point <5>

This is QUITE inconsistent between embassies, even in the same country!

Also, GOOD LUCK. As someone also hoping to apply in Melbourne for a trip in November, I am very invested in your success
P.S. If you can share details of any other agencies offering a JGA-like service, I'd be very interested.
