How large are the bags? I emphathize more with the airlines than the passenger when I see the size and weight of the bags some people try to check in with in some parts of the world. If your wife has reasonably sized bags, she may be able to get all three checked as a J-customer. If the bags are all of the aforementioned dimensions, forget it. Only Elites and SEs [STARGolds] have the extra baggage allowance. However, if one of the bags is of the 26" roller variety, then she should take that one on board as a carryon. She should be able to take one of those, plus her purse/handbag and even some norma-sized shopping bags onboard. I would expect, however, AC to be quite strict if this is the non-stop flight, as they are also dealing with weight/fuel burn issues.
