I paid 160,000 BA Miles and I think around GBP 200 in taxes and used my Amex 2 for 1 in 2003. The best bargain I had. It was a steal and 'the bird' was an experience like no other. Anyone who did the classic 'arrive before you leave' LHR 10:30am depart JFK 09:30am arrive will also recall the complete absence of any jetlag to boot! None!
